Affiliate disclosure

The plain version

Steady & Simple takes part in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you use one of our price buttons and then buy something, Amazon pays us a small percentage. You pay exactly the same price — the commission comes out of Amazon’s margin, not your pocket.

That is the whole of our income. There is no advertising on this site, no sponsored posts, no paid placements, and no paid newsletter.

What it does not change

• It does not change which products we pick.
• It does not change the order they appear in.
• It does not change what we say about them, including the drawbacks.
• It does not stop us recommending products we earn nothing from. Several of the best devices for this audience are sold directly by their makers; we name them anyway and say plainly that we earn nothing.

About our product links

Our product links pass through our own redirect at /go/ before they reach the retailer. That is so we can keep links working when a product is renamed, discontinued or moved, without rewriting the article. The redirect adds our Amazon tracking tag and sends you straight on; it does not collect anything about you beyond standard web server logs.

Links that are not commercial — a manufacturer’s support page, a government resource, a specification sheet — are plain links and earn us nothing. Every earning link is marked with “#ad” near the button and carries the sponsored nofollow attributes search engines expect.

About prices

We do not print prices in our articles, because retail prices change daily and a printed price is misleading within a week. Every product has a button that checks the current price. When a verified live price is available it is shown inside the button with the date it was checked; if that check is more than 48 hours old, the number disappears rather than going stale.

Prices and availability shown on Amazon at the time of purchase are the ones that apply to your purchase.
